Summer Solstice Heartbeat

At the graduation dinner in their senior year of high school, Jiang Licheng clutched the love letter she'd spent three years writing. Zhou Miyang spotted her outside the restroom.

She thought it was her chance to confess, but her childhood friend Xu Xuan came rushing over and forcibly took her away.

"You deserve someone better. He's not for you," Xu Xuan said.

She threw the letter into the trash and locked Zhou Miyang's name away in her heart.

Later, she gave it everything she had to get into a prestigious university, thinking she could stand shoulder to shoulder with him.

But when they met again at an academic forum, his childhood friend Qiao Ying sneered at her. "Some people can only get this far."

Her paper was rejected. Rumors were spread about her. She was humiliated.

Yet the cool, distinguished young man crossed half the city to send her a revised draft covered in red-ink notes.

When she was surrounded and harassed, he coldly brushed Qiao Ying's hand away. "That's enough."

Before leaving to study abroad, he slipped his only contact information into her hand.
