Through the wall.

She's in love with a girl her own age.

Young, unrestrained, and confidently happy like wild grass in spring.

It's been so many years. The last time something stirred in my body was probably one late night after a little red wine. It was over quickly.

I tilt my head back and catch the tears at the corners of my eyes with my lips.

My desire grows in the fissure between "the aunt she respects" and "the woman who wants to be hers," with my back to the light, my back to her.

She calls me Auntie.

I've answered to it for more than ten years.

But does she know that an aunt is a woman, too?
