May-December Obsession

Blind girl x glamorous older woman

1.

Bian Xiaoqiu was reserved by nature and had been blind since birth.

Her father asked a matchmaker to introduce her to Yin Man.

They told others they were joining forces to make a living, but in private they were simply roommates under the same roof.

Bian's father slept in one room.

In the other, Bian Xiaoqiu and Yin Man squeezed into one bed and slept together every night.

Yin Man was thirty-five, with a mature, alluring beauty.

Bian Xiaoqiu couldn't see Yin Man's face, but she knew she always smelled of cold cream.

Fine brows, a high nose, a pointed chin, and long hair she deliberately left untied, with a few strands falling loose.

Yin Man had once taken her hand and guided it inch by inch over her mature features.

2.

Life in the stifling county town wore people down until all that remained was numbness.

After Bian Xiaoqiu fell asleep, Yin Man would often lie awake, staring at the dark ceiling.

One night, late.

Yin Man lay on her side, outside the covers.

Bian Xiaoqiu opened her eyes. After twenty years in darkness, the world was bright again.

Moonlight slipped through the gap in the window.

She saw it all clearly: Yin Man facing her, her beautiful face flushed, the loneliness and debauchery.

[After regaining her sight, she keeps pretending to be blind]

[A worn, dim apartment building, narrow winding streets, and two people crossing the line amid the town's weary, everyday life. A county-town story where even they cannot tell whether what they feel is loneliness, emptiness, isolation, or love]

[HE, 15-year age gap, both physically and emotionally chaste, bittersweet and sweet]

[The younger woman's father is just a plot device. The older woman has no relationship with him, and the younger and older women are not related in any way]
