Devoted younger woman with little interest in romance × cool, refined older woman

1.

Chang Qing first saw He Ruyu at Chang Wu's wedding.

The crowd was full of people, but Chang Qing spotted her at once.

A slender figure, a cool gaze, one hand in the pocket of her suit trousers and the other holding a girl a few years younger than her.

A very, very white shirt, and very, very long hair.

From that day on, the young girl's tender feelings took root in Chang Qing's heart.

2.

A week after moving to a new city for university, Chang Qing's older sister gave her an address. "It's my friend's place. She'd be happy to have you."

"Which friend?"

"He Ruyu."

Chang Qing had kept her love for He Ruyu a secret for a long time.

All she could do was hide her feelings away, because He Ruyu already had someone she wanted to spend her life with.

Then, in the year He Ruyu turned twenty-eight, things changed.

The day Chang Qing moved into He Ruyu's home was the same day He Ruyu broke up with her partner.

A five-year relationship had come to an end.

Later, Chang Qing confessed to her. "I like you."

"I'm sorry. I don't have the energy to watch another girl grow up anymore."
