Can Puchi Play Tennis?

I'm a juicy Pooji that gives off a delicious aroma. At three months old, I transmigrated to another world, fell onto Kirihara while he was soaking in the sea, and turned into a human.

Kirihara took me home and told me that nonhuman beings like us had to blend in if we wanted to survive in human society.

So I started playing tennis with him.

Honestly, I'm a slow learner, because I'm just a Pooji. Before this, I didn't even have hands.

But I soon discovered the benefit of learning tennis: I didn't have to worry about anyone finding out what I was, because none of the others were human either.

Yukimura is a cornflower. He likes sunbathing and drinking water. Cloudy days put him in a bad mood, so don't make him angry that day.

Tezuka is a fir tree. He doesn't recommend that his friends go hiking or camping with him, because all he does is find a spot in the mountains and turn back into a tree.

Atobe is a rose. He likes to soak himself in a pile of ordinary rose petals to make himself smell sweeter.

And then there's Nioh, Marui... It's great that none of us are human.

A little scene

One day during training camp, everyone prepared dinner themselves. The mushroom soup was delicious.

Marui: This mushroom soup smells great, but why can't I see any mushrooms?

Yanagi: I didn't put in any mushrooms.

Marui: ...Then where's this aroma coming from?

Pooji, proudly: It didn't taste savory enough at first, so I turned back into my original form and simmered in it for a few minutes.

Everyone who had already drunk the soup: ...

Pooji, reassuringly: The water temperature won't hurt me. It just brings out my aroma.

Everyone: That's not what we're worried about... Though maybe we should worry about that too.

Yagyuu: Are you a poisonous mushroom?

Pooji, hesitantly: I only know that the adventurers who ate us didn't die.
