Love, Unsent

A new neighbor moves in next door to Qiao Youning. He's good-looking, a great cook, and has a lovely disposition. He blushes when she gets even a little closer, shy and adorable.

She thinks she might like him.

There's just one thing: there's a locked door in his home. Whenever she brings it up, he blushes and stammers, refusing to say much more.

This makes her very unhappy.

Then one day, she opens the door and sees her photographs covering every inch of the walls, from high school to college and right up to the present. Every stage of her life has been documented in meticulous detail.

She also sees the hair clip she accidentally lost, a pen that had run out of ink, and a test paper she deliberately threw away... They're arranged neatly on the desk, like some kind of secret collection.

On the photograph closest to the door, two lines have been written in pen. Qiao Youning reads:

October 15, 2015,

I think I like you.

It is now September 18, 2022, seven years after 2015.

Jiang Yule has loved someone for seven years. He's been watching her since high school, though they've only spoken three times.

At first, Jiang Yule only wanted to be able to see her forever, to know how she was doing and whether she was happy.

Later, he wanted to know everything about her and wanted her to belong to him forever.

He is so timid, despicable, and selfish. But fortunately, Qiao Youning still saw him, and saw his love.

Every day when she gets home from work, the food she wants to eat is already prepared, and the messy room she left behind has been tidied up.

At night, half-awake as she drifts off to sleep, Qiao Youning feels someone take her hand, threading their fingers together and clasping them tightly.

Then a warm body presses against her and draws her into an embrace.

"I like you. I've always liked you."

"Mm, I know."
