The Driver's Son

Back in her school days, the person Miss Bai hated most was her class president, Pei Zhili.

She hated his consistently top-ranked grades, his faultlessly composed way of speaking, and his perpetually straight back. She hated the way his beautiful black eyes always looked at her, proud and calm.

He was only the son of her father's driver, after all.

Then one day, she happened to see the driver disciplining his son.

A slap across the face, then a hard kick. Blood spattered on the ground as the boy bent at the waist, like a butterfly with broken wings.

Bai Yan slapped the driver in return.

"If you do that again," she snapped, one of her manicured nails knocked off, her temper giving her a fierce, spoiled air. "I'll have Dad fire you. Get lost!"

The man scurried away.

Pei Zhili, still on the ground, raised his head to look at her. Blood stained his lips a vivid red, but his expression remained detached and calm.

"Thank you," he said, his voice as mild and faultless as ever. "But I have nothing I can give you in return."

The violence had brought a faint mist to those black eyes. As he looked up at her, he seemed innocent and pure, with a deep, dangerous allure.

Bai Yan had only meant to stand up for someone, but for some reason, she paused.

"...There is something."

Her voice softened. She crouched down, lifted his chin, and brushed the blood at the corner of his lips with her fingertips.

* This is a BG novel, but it will also feature a lot of GB. There will be plenty of dominant women. Don't read if that's not your thing.

* The young lady will never go broke. The male lead will emerge from his cocoon and become very, very rich, until he's worthy of her.
