A new neighbor moves in next door to Huo Chengyu.
He has a head of bright golden hair and a face as soft and white as a mochi. He’s so lively that he follows Huo Chengyu around every day, chattering nonstop.
But the more Huo Chengyu looks at him, the stranger his new neighbor seems.
He likes the same snacks as Huo Chengyu’s dog, the same toy ducks, and goes out at the same times every morning and evening as Huo Chengyu walks the dog.
He even has the same ambition to climb into Huo Chengyu’s bed in the middle of the night.
And he actually, actually, actually says he wants to be Huo Chengyu’s dog?!
Does he really love him that much?
Huo Chengyu’s eyes widen in shock. He doesn’t understand, but he respects it.
After all,
he lost his dog ten years ago.
When he came to his senses and opened his eyes, all he saw was a familiar tuft of fur, golden and weightless, falling to the ground.
His Chu Yi was gone.
-
Chu Yi was a short-legged little dog.
His big ears stood up proudly, his back was straight, and his short legs were sturdy. One grin was enough to win everyone’s affection.
He was a beautiful Corgi with a top-notch pedigree.
But when he saw the car hurtling straight toward his little owner, he suddenly realized that his own body was floating.
Huh?
Hey, hey, hey, don’t cry!
Chu Yi’s right here!
Right here, right here, right... Ahhh, why can’t my muzzle reach my little owner?!
When Chu Yi found his little owner again ten years later, the boy had grown up to become an excellent dog trainer.
The puppies he trained were all so clumsy. They couldn’t even figure out how to spin in a circle, yet they still got head pats and praise. Obviously, Chu Yi was the best dog his little owner ever had!
Why can’t a spirit and a human form exist at the same time? Damn it!
-
The sky is clear and the air is fresh. Chu Yi’s spirit follows his little owner on their usual walk.
He holds it in as long as he can, but finally gives up, finds a tree root in the bushes, and lifts his little leg.
The next second, he sees his little owner walking toward him with an expression of both alarm and delight.
His little owner says:
“I once lost a little dog who looked exactly like you. Did you get lost too, with nowhere to go?
How about I call you Chu Yi?”
The newly adopted dog disappears again, while the new neighbor still curls up in his arms as promised.
He whines weakly, “Huo Chengyu! I only wanted to play at biting lips! I wasn’t trying to kiss you!”
Huo Chengyu: “But in the human world, biting lips is kissing.”
P.S.
1. One-on-one, happy ending, sweet story.
2. The story begins from Chu Yi’s perspective ten years later.
3. Don’t worry, the dog will love you forever!
Theme: The love and loyalty humans spend their whole lives seeking are all hidden inside this fluffy little head.
