The Infinite Journey of a Murderous Duo

(You can follow along even if you don't know the protagonist)

At the end of everything, Pantaleone thought he could finally rest peacefully in the ley lines. But when he opened his eyes, he found that he seemed to be alive again.

And on top of that, he had received quite a few... well, "gifts"?

[How rude, my dear banker.]

A blue-and-red garbled text box flickered beside Pantaleone. [I thought our unexpected reunion would be more moving.]

"Indeed, my friend." Pantaleone pushed up his glasses. "We both thought it would be the last time."

[Perhaps this is what they mean by that old Liyue saying: calamities live for a thousand years?]

"Ha." Pantaleone chuckled. "I absolutely adore your ill-timed sense of humor."

"But instead of reminiscing..."

Pantaleone slowly took two steps back, dodging the blood that nearly splattered onto his clothes. He looked at the loathsome, unidentifiable monster before him.

"Doctor, how about finding a way to keep me alive a little longer first?"

[As always,] the garbled text in the air laughed. [Of course I will.]
