I Surrender

One midsummer when she was seventeen, her dad brought home a boy covered in injuries. "Ningning, this is Xie Hang."

Xie Hang raised an eyebrow at the girl in front of him. "Didn't you say you can't force a melon to be sweet?"

"Who said that? You're the sweetest melon. Can I borrow your homework?"

She denied ever saying it without a shred of shame.

One autumn, when he was twenty-seven, he returned to her side. "Ningning, it's me, Xie Hang."

"Xie Hang?"

Yu Ningning felt the man's face with her hands, as if searching for the boy in her memories.

She was his creditor, the little princess he pampered,

and the only person in his life he was ever willing to surrender to.
