(Launching at the end of the month) After transmigrating, Shen Lanzhen finds himself in the unofficial histories as the slave of a ruthless emperor who recognizes neither family nor kin.
He's timid and obsequious, afraid to die, and struggling to stay alive, all the while hoping that one day he'll rise through the ranks to become the chief eunuch.
The chief eunuch sees that he's just a child and points at him casually. "You, go serve in the Cold Palace."
Shen Lanzhen: :) Okay, fine.
To stay alive, he decides to latch onto someone powerful.
So he sets his sights on one person: the emperor's unpopular, foolish son!
The young prince was born under an unlucky star, and his hardiness scared off several of his study companions. A fortune-teller said that the young lord was destined to be lonely, with such heavy baleful energy that he needed to marry someone just as tough.
In his previous life, Shen Lanzhen was a male kindergarten teacher. What a coincidence: this is right up his alley! He uses all his tricks for coaxing children to persuade the foolish Sixth Prince that he must marry no one but him.
"My lord, no one else will give you candy but me, right?"
"My lord, I can play cricket fights with you tonight."
"If you want to play with me, you have to beg His Majesty to give us his blessing."
The young prince nods, and the emperor casually bestows Shen Lanzhen upon him as his princess consort. The prince may be a fool, but he's incredibly generous.
Shen Lanzhen ends up living even more comfortably than the emperor. The fool happily acts like his dog every day, carries him around on his back, and clings to him and hugs him to sleep as soon as they return to their chambers!
Shen Lanzhen could wake up laughing from his dreams! What a deal, having a fool for a boss who provides meals, lodging, and massages! Where else could he find such a good life?!
The foolish prince has eyes only for him. Whenever they go shopping, he buys anything Shen Lanzhen so much as glances at for a moment.
"My dear, do you like this gold hairpin? Shall I buy it for you?"
"My dear, do you like this shop? I'll buy it, and you can make pastries for me every day. How about that?"
"My dear, I'll buy this slave to serve you..."
Eventually, Shen Lanzhen grows plump and rosy, saves up enough money, and, when the palace coup comes, takes several chests of gold and treasure he's managed to squirrel away, planning to escape with his fool and live a peaceful life.
Outside, the world is engulfed in war. The fool is gone.
When Shen Lanzhen rushes into the palace and finds him, the foolish prince sees him arrive, stands amid the corpses in the great hall with the emperor's head in his hand, and smiles at him ingratiatingly. "My dear, I've taken the throne too. Shall I give it to you?"
"Shall I?"
Shen Lanzhen: "?"
He slaps him. "Do you know how long it took me to save all that money? You could have told me you were going to take the whole empire!"
Greedy, cowardly, petty bottom x deceptively innocent, doting husband who goes wild for his wife
The top is very much a wolf in sheep's clothing. Other than his wife, he doesn't consider anyone else human, and he has no limits.
