The elements are all over the place, and so is the writing. This is basically a mixed bag, sorry, sorry qwq.

A cultivation puppet master transmigrates into a book and ends up as an insignificant supporting character in a post-apocalyptic world.

Ling Runqiu barely reacts.

She learns that she's transmigrated as a vicious cannon-fodder character, the kind who forces the male lead to be her boyfriend and will eventually get chopped to pieces for interfering with the romance between the leads.

Her response: "Oh, then I'll just focus on building my career."

So when the male lead coldly asks to break up, she agrees at once, returns the bracelet the original character had taken from him, and calls it even.

She focuses on building a base, holding hands with her best friend, and, for the sake of staying alive, treating the male lead like an untouchable ancestor she can't afford to offend.

She uses zombies as conduits to transmit lightning tribulations and generate electricity, sticks substitution talismans onto zombies to experience a high-risk amusement park, and uses a spirit-summoning spell to awaken a zombie chef and create heritage cuisine.

Her career is going smoothly, but her revered ancestor has a terrible temper.

The male lead is impossibly hard to please.

He gets angry when he sees her walking with her best friend.

He gets angry when he sees her accepting a letter from another male character.

And when she doesn't say anything at all, he gets even angrier, finding roundabout ways to show it.

Ling Runqiu just smiles through it all, keeping her focus on the base.

Later, to keep the base safe, she tries to bring the male and female leads together. At his suggestion, she even acts as his personal strategist to help him win the girl over.

Then one night, the male lead loses control and pins her against the wall.

Shen Qing's voice is low. "Don't you like me?"

Ling Runqiu: ?

Shen Qing can't figure out what the girl in front of him is trying to do.

First, she took his bracelet while he was weak, made him find supplies and heat water, and carefully wait on her. If anything displeased her, she'd insult him. Now, all of a sudden, she's changed her tune.

Not only did she return his ability, she also agreed to break up.

She agreed so readily that it made him frown. He thought, how could she possibly survive without him?

Besides, she keeps doing things that make him uncomfortable.

Getting too close to other people, accepting their letters, always brushing him off.

But why doesn't he leave now that he's free? Shen Qing doesn't know either. He just stays, firmly convinced that he's not becoming addicted to being mistreated.

Later, after watching her, he discovers that someone else has taken over Ling Runqiu's body. Little by little, he is drawn to the girl's abilities.

Until one time, he deliberately lets her get into trouble to teach her a lesson, refusing to help. Instead, he watches Liang Runqiu break through flawlessly.

The love he has been accumulating for so long bursts free.

Though he feels uncomfortable when Ling Runqiu brings back another girl, he still tells her, "I want to pursue someone."

And then his crush keeps trying to set him up with someone else.

On the verge of breaking down, Shen Qing pins her against the wall.

"Xiao Qiu," he says hoarsely, "you're the one I want to pursue."

"Will you give me another chance?"
