Ji Huaizhen knows he has a little shadow following him around. She’s so clumsy she can’t even hide it.

A gloomy little mouse follows him every day, collecting the things he throws away.

An empty mineral water bottle, the tissue he uses to wipe off sweat after a game, a pen he accidentally drops...

One day, after having a bad time out, Ji Huaizhen can’t take the little shadow’s presence anymore. He suddenly appears around a corner and grabs Zhou Jin by the collar.

The frightened girl looks at him pitifully, her eyes already brimming with tears.

The handsome boy moves closer, inch by inch, staring into those adorable round eyes.

“You like me?”

Zhou Jin is so scared she breaks free and runs away.

Ji Huaizhen had already given up on living.

He finds the world dull and tiresome.

Even when crouching to tie his shoelaces, he thinks about pulling out the laces and choking himself with them.

But then he discovers a timid little mouse, and it thrills him so much he trembles.

He starts deliberately teasing and tempting Zhou Jin, using his words to make her cry pitifully.

Then Ji Huaizhen leans closer and slowly licks away her tears, biting and nibbling at her cheeks.

The sight of Zhou Jin, angry and helpless, makes his heart flutter.

He wants to tie this little mouse to his side for all eternity.

It takes Zhou Jin a long time to realize she has provoked a mad dog she can’t shake off or get rid of, a filthy, clingy one.

He’s awful.

So awful that Zhou Jin is a little afraid of him.

And he’s always saying things that make her blush.

“Do you like me, baby?”

“Mm-hmm... I do.”

“If you like me, you should kiss me first, right?”

Zhou Jin, eyes hazy, leans over and kisses the corner of his mouth.

He strokes her hair, slides a finger into her mouth, and deliberately watches her expression.

Then he praises her in a low voice. “Such a good girl.”

Note:

The male lead has the looks, physique, and wealth.

The female lead is a little chubby, ordinary, and poor. She lacks just about everything.

Contains a dominant female gaze and a bad-seed guy who seduces an honest girl.

The male lead has a tragic past. The male lead gets the angst.
