Affected

Yu Li hated Zhou Jinmai.

.

At first, she thought they were using each other, until Zhou Jinmai told her coldly that wasn't the case.

.

Yu Li found it absurd. He was a rich young master, pampered and privileged, the center of attention wherever he went. He was handsome, knew how to have fun, and had no shortage of admirers. He'd never taken anyone seriously.

.

And what was she? Her mother had died young, her father was a gambling addict, and she was struggling to get by with her kid brother in tow. Only Zhou Jinmai's support kept her from being completely overwhelmed.

.

She knew exactly how things had started between them. He'd been acting on a whim, looking for something new, and she'd been happy to put a price on herself and sell herself to him. As for love, she was sure she felt none.

.

Their breakup was ugly. Yu Li refused to back down, while Zhou Jinmai seemed disheartened. He tossed out a "Suit yourself" and put an end to things between them.

.

Later, once they had each returned to their own lives, Yu Li slowly realized that Zhou Jinmai wasn't naturally easygoing. Even without her, his world continued to thrive.
