[Island Beauty VS. Beautiful Mermaid]
After her grandmother passed away, Shen Zhiqing returned to the island where she had grown up to take care of the funeral arrangements.
After the funeral, she went for a walk alone by the sea and found someone unconscious on a secluded stretch of shore. She hurried over to check on them, only to discover that when the waves receded, the person had a beautiful, deep-blue fish tail. Before long, it turned into a pair of legs.
Shen Zhiqing: ?
Fairy tales are real. Mermaids really do exist!
The mermaid was injured, and Shen Zhiqing felt sorry for her, so she took her home, which was right by the sea.
The mermaid couldn't speak. She always looked at Shen Zhiqing with her jewel-like blue eyes, and followed her wherever she went.
To make it easier to address her, Shen Zhiqing gave her a name: Juexia.
Most of the time, Juexia was very well-behaved. She learned to talk, cook, and do housework. She was just exceptionally clingy, insisting on sleeping with Shen Zhiqing, too.
Without realizing it, Shen Zhiqing fell in love with the beautiful mermaid.
Not long afterward, Juexia began acting strangely, often going into the sea to avoid Shen Zhiqing.
Shen Zhiqing thought she wanted to leave and tearfully begged her to stay.
Juexia quickly explained: "I'm not leaving. It's just... my mating season has started."
Shen Zhiqing hadn't even had time to wipe away her tears. "Huh?"
Some time later, Shen Zhiqing started feeling nauseous now and then. Juexia said, "You might be pregnant."
Shen Zhiqing: "Huh??"
Don't we have reproductive barriers?!
