Yan Che found a badly injured snake.
Its scales were pitch-black, its vertical pupils ice-blue. It was dangerous, beautiful, and especially good at playing dead.
Normally, he should have called the fire department, but for some reason, he took the snake home.
The only problem was that this snake was a little unusual.
It could pick locks and break out of cages, watch movies, and even steal potato chips.
Yan Che: ...Is that something a normal snake can do?
In the middle of the night, the new snake slipped into his bed. Cold scales pressed against his calf and slid upward, stopping at the inside of his thigh.
Yan Che's whole body stiffened. He didn't dare move or even think about what would happen if the snake's tail slid another inch higher.
Then one day, he came down with a fever.
Half asleep and delirious with fever, Yan Che felt something cool and soft slip between his burning lips, give him a mouthful of refreshingly cold water, and curl around the tip of his tongue.
He opened his eyes and came to at once.
A shirtless man appeared before him. Black hair fell around his face, his eyes were ice-blue with vertical pupils like a snake's, and his abdominal muscles formed an aggressively defined curve in the moonlight.
"You..." Yan Che's voice trembled. "Are you the snake I picked up?"
"I'm yours." The man's voice was low and hoarse, carrying a primal instinct that seemed to surge from the depths of his very bones. "But you are mine."
The snake's tail tightened by an inch.
And Yan Che became the snake's one and only salvation.

Yan Che: "Put your tail away! Why are you wrapping it around my waist?"
Snake (tilting his head): "Measuring your waist. The number is down one centimeter from last time. You haven't been eating properly lately."
Yan Che: "..."
Snake (the tip of his tail hooking up the hem of Yan Che's pajamas): "You need to eat more."

Please check out my completed novel: After Feeding the Miniature Human Kingdom in the Apocalypse
Qin Zhiyuan was building a Lego shop when an unexpected visitor wandered in.
A tiny person, no bigger than his palm, begged him for help and a drink of water.
After thinking for a moment, he opened a bottle of sweet, refreshing Nongfu Spring,
then set the water-filled bottle cap down in front of the stunned little person.
In a world ravaged by the apocalypse, plants and animals mutated, disasters never ceased, and danger lurked everywhere.
Humanity's supplies were gradually depleted, and bodies littered the land as people fell into despair.
An inconspicuous shop appeared out of nowhere and quietly opened for business.
Bottles of mineral water taller than people, soft bread big enough to use as a sofa,
noodles several meters long, a talking parrot that could carry passengers through the sky,
remote-controlled tanks racing at full speed, and cannons made of fireworks...
The owner of the magical shop rescued humanity from disaster
and brought new hope to a miniature world on the brink of destruction.
Please check out my upcoming novel: I Reclaimed the Wasteland and Found an Injured Northeast Tiger Beastman
Lin Yanqiu read a ridiculous comic that made him furious. Its handsome, tragic villain was mutilated and killed by the hypocritical protagonist.
In a single transmigration, he became a rabbit beastman with little fighting ability in the comic, with the villain, the Northeast tiger Cang Lin, lying behind him.
Cang Lin was the strongest in his tribe, but an ally and the treacherous protagonist had joined forces to trick him. His legs were crippled, and he was badly injured and near death.
His other underlings had already scattered in terror, leaving only Lin Yanqiu, a newly transmigrated cannon-fodder character who was a beat too slow, standing alone where he was.
Lin Yanqiu looked at the gravely injured, unconscious Northeast tiger beastman, a "Northeast golden tabby," then at the ongoing rainstorm disaster and the glowing webpage interface. He tightened his grip on the hoe in his hand.
He chopped wood and cut grass, mixed mud and built a house, going from a drafty grass hut to a wooden house and then a stone one that could shelter them from the wind and rain. He turned the soil and dug irrigation canals, transforming a barren hillside strewn with rocks into fertile fields.
He cooked meals, making tough beast meat tender and fragrant; gathered wild fruit and flower nectar, brewing sweet, refreshing fruit drinks and honey syrup; and wove nets to catch fish, hauling up plump, delicious fish, shrimp, crabs, and clams.
Potatoes, sweet potatoes, and corn flourished in the fields, growing far faster and yielding far more than the native crops of the beast world. Tender greens and crisp, sweet radishes soon sprouted, entirely replacing the bitter, hard-to-swallow wild vegetables.
The once dilapidated, backward little tribe that everyone looked down on gradually changed under his care.
A city rose from wasteland, scattered tribes came to join them, and even the tribes that had once bullied the weak were absorbed.
A thousand tribes bowed their heads, and ten thousand beasts paid homage.
Lin Yanqiu unified the continent and pacified the entire beast world, becoming the Beast Emperor who ruled over every corner of the land.

When Cang Lin changed back into his Northeast tiger form, he was enormous, with thick, glossy fur and half-lidded golden eyes. He looked fierce, but let the rabbit beastman in his arms rub against him with soft, fluffy rabbit ears to his heart's content.
He had once thought he would die in darkness and despair. He never expected that this resilient man, who knew how to farm and cook, would pull him out of the abyss, save him, and give him a new life.
The Northeast tiger, once violent and cruel, decisive in killing, showed Lin Yanqiu gentleness, obedience, and loyalty.
His huge tiger paw gently curled around the little rabbit in his arms, protecting him completely as he stayed by his side to guard the home they had reclaimed together.
