It wasn't until the Eastern dragon arrived on the Western continent that he learned what truly harsh conditions meant.
The streets were filthy, the houses run-down, supplies scarce, and the so-called “food” consisted of hard, black wheat cakes, bland meat soup, and unpalatable roasted monsters. They could barely find any seasonings at all.
The fastidious dragon took in the appalling surroundings and tasteless food. His proud dragon heart was dealt a devastating blow.
So, in a fit of anger, he bought a plot of land and opened a tiny shop.
Run-down and filthy, with scarce supplies?
He casually set up a feng shui formation, summoned a spirit spring, planted spirit herbs, and raised spirit livestock. In an instant, the shabby little shop became a blessed place suffused with spiritual energy.
Awful cooking and a culinary wasteland?
Steamed spirit fish, braised beast ribs, crystal shrimp dumplings, sweet osmanthus wine... One divine delicacy after another appeared, their aroma drifting for miles.
At first, the different races scoffed:
“Lowly human food, worthy of tempting the noble elves?”
“How can their pretentious cooking compare to dwarven spirits?”
Until...
The elves put down their dried fruit and squatted outside the shop, fighting over steaming soup dumplings.
The dwarves dropped their picks and downed three bowls of carefully simmered bone broth.
Even the cold, arrogant black dragon and the mysterious lich became regulars.
Before long, the whole Western continent had gone mad.
Emperors and nobles queued up to make reservations, church officials ordered lunch boxes in bulk, heroes stopped gnawing on dry bread, and even the Demon King secretly came by for a free meal...
Everyone crowded outside the shop and obediently lined up. “Lord Dragon, could you sell a few more portions today?”
Qin Shiyu leaned behind the counter, leisurely savoring his tea.
“Clean the street in front of my shop first, then we can talk about food.”
Later, they would say that the most sacred place on the Western continent was not the temple, but the chain of restaurants opened by that Eastern dragon.

Qin Shiyu was the last Eastern dragon. Worried that his species would go extinct because he had no mate of his own kind, he followed the will of Heaven and headed west.
He was just about to meet a Western dragoness for a matchmaking date when the legendary cold and cruel black dragon, who lived alone in the mountains, latched onto him.
The black dragon took human form and looked down at him, his voice low and earnest:
“I'll sweep the shop, move stock, till the fields, and guard the door.”
“Would you let me work for you for free for the rest of my life?”
