[Diabolik Lovers] Bewitching Eyes

● Pairing: Kanato. Mild yandere themes and OOC warnings, so please read at your own discretion.

● On hiatus. This was a fanfic I wrote before signing a contract, and the writing is rather rough and immature. But there isn't much Kanato content, so I've left this one unlocked for fellow fans to read.

1. During a power struggle within the church, Shallow Shirakawa, the daughter of the losing side, is sent to live in a remote, ancient mansion.

Before she arrives, all Shallow remembers is the guarded look on her father's face when she asked about the old manor, and how he did everything he could to avoid discussing it.

She presses her lips together and lowers her eyes.

Whatever hidden presence dwells in that magnificent old mansion, she will find a way to survive

Until a beautiful-faced boy traps her, and she feels dizzy from blood loss and a sharp ache from the tiny marks of his bite.

It turns out that a group of legendary creatures lives in this old mansion: vampires.

2. The first time she sees Kanato Sakamaki is among the gorgeous roses at the Sakamaki mansion.

The handsome boy, with his striking face, holds an exquisitely made brown teddy bear in his arms and keeps his eyes lowered. A faint bluish shadow lies beneath them, like a little pool of stagnant water.

He softly hums an unfamiliar tune, his long, pale fingers slowly snapping a rose from the bush beside him.

For a moment, Shallow Shirakawa thinks a fairy from myth has descended into the world

Until the purple-haired boy raises his eyes, his gloomy, cold gaze falling on her. A shiver runs through her, as though a cold-blooded snake has locked onto her. He casually flicks the rose stem at her, it shoots toward her too fast for the eye to follow and slashes across her cheek!

Bright red beads of blood trickle down, and Shallow can faintly smell the drifting scent of blood.

"Get lost! Get out of my sight, now!"

She hears the sharp, icy reprimand from the boy before her.

Her heart beats wildly beyond her control, she has fallen in love at first sight.

With those gorgeous eyes, alive like a storm and brimming with fury...

*Pairing: Kanato Sakamaki. The story weaves in some of Kanato's main plot, though not much. There are no romantic storylines with other characters from the original work; any interactions are only there to advance the main plot.

*The original outline has no bad ending, but when the story is complete, I'll ask the readers what they think. If enough people want one, I'll write a dark bad-ending alternate route.

1. I started this on a whim. This is my own interpretation of Kanato, and since I've only played the main game, there may be some OOC.

2. Mild dark themes. The heroine isn't in the best state of mind.

4. Updates: Life is too busy! Update schedule is irregular!

5. There are a lot of personal headcanons. If I can't find information about some details, I get stuck, so I'll be making up quite a lot myself. Please, readers, try to look the other way...! Please!!
