Innocent, ruthless, supreme and powerful Snow Maiden x seemingly delicate and pitiful, but actually a scheming parasitic flower
Legend says that in the snowy lands at the westernmost edge of Gu Family Castle, there lives a Snow Maiden.
With white hair and blue eyes, she roams the snowy plains in plain white robes, luring in and slaughtering humans who desecrate the mountains.
Those lucky enough to escape are threatened with their lives and forbidden to speak of anything connected to her.
They are also forbidden from falling in love with anyone else for the rest of their lives.
There were seven members of the tenth generation of the Gu family, but only six heirs.
The eldest daughter, Gu Pu, offended one of the heirs and was exiled to the snow mountain for seven days.
The Snow Maiden swept her sleeve, and everything was buried.
An avalanche blocked the way, leaving them trapped with no way forward or back. Everyone who had gone with Gu Pu was buried there.
Gu Jiao saw the cold, merciless figure atop the mountain, and a mad idea took root.
If she could make the Snow Maiden hers, could she seal away everyone who had ever bullied her beneath the snow?
So, just as the Snow Maiden swept her sleeve at Gu Pu, her tears crystallized into droplets and rolled to the ground.
Chun let one person go.
The most beautiful one among them.
The one who cried the most, too.
Seven days later.
Chun took the form of a human woman and knocked on the gates of Gu Family Castle on a snowy night.
The woman, hidden behind her many sisters, looked at Chun with astonishment.
So she was a faithless woman, Chun thought.
She would kill her.
The seven days passed quickly.
But Gu Pu was the only one who returned to Gu Family Castle.
And with her came a beautiful, kind, and virtuous woman who had appeared out of nowhere.
Her blue eyes were exactly like those of the Snow Maiden in the legends.
Gu Pu, the only one who was not an heir, soon became the woman's betrothed.
As they spent time together, murderous intent and love kept shifting in the woman's eyes.
Gu Pu pretended not to notice, continuing to lure her in with the most innocent of expressions.
Gu Pu knew she was dancing on the edge of a knife.
But so what?
All she had ever wanted was the Snow Maiden's wholehearted tolerance and favor.
She wanted the Snow Maiden to keep lowering her boundaries for her, again and again.
Otherwise, how could she make the Snow Maiden her blade?
Chun's murderous intent dissolved in Gu Pu's gentle whispers, soft sobs, and tear-filled eyes.
Night after night, Chun nearly drowned in the other's treacherous embrace.
She loved her.
And she loved her, too.
Chun thought she had finally come to understand the bonds between people.
Before the blade could be forged, their affection was already broken.
Her excessive trust had let the other's ambition grow unchecked. By the time Chun realized Gu Pu had been using her, all their sweet words had turned to nothing.
Chun could forgive her for breaking their promises, but not for deceiving her from beginning to end.
On a snowy night, Chun left Gu Family Castle for good.
She took with her the endless snowfall that had blanketed the mountain for three hundred years.
And she took with her the genuine feelings Gu Pu had hidden beneath her exploitation.
