Can I Still Become an Emperor for the Ages With the Wrong System?

Lin Yang transmigrates into the eleven-year-old boy emperor of the Great Liang Dynasty.

The good news: At such a young age, he's already taken the highest position in the land.

The bad news: The realm is on the verge of collapse.

At court, powerful in-laws and eunuchs control the government, while influential ministers form factions for their own gain. In the provinces, great clans dominate their territories and build up private armies. The feudal lords are divided, obeying orders but refusing to come when summoned. To the north, the Rong and Di tribes sharpen their blades, watching like hungry wolves.

Great Liang is battered by storms, already showing all the signs of a dying dynasty.

And he is a powerless puppet emperor, liable to be deposed and killed at any moment.

Fortunately, Lin Yang has bound himself to a System. Surely it can save him from this predicament...?

[Apocalypse Reconstruction System]: In the year 3021, the world faces an apocalyptic catastrophe. Civilization collapses, the ecosystem is destroyed, and survivors struggle to stay alive. As the chosen Host, you must help rebuild the world!

Lin Yang: There's an apocalypse, too!

He frets, “What year is it now? How long until the apocalypse?”

[Apocalypse Reconstruction System]: The year is 1203.

Lin Yang: “...Did you read the date backward when you transmigrated?”

This is way too far in the future!

The System says nothing and simply keeps issuing missions: [Mission 1: Survival is paramount, and meat is one of the main sources of protein. Host, find 300 grams of pure meat free of radiation and contamination.]

Lin Yang looks at the plate of chicken on the table and taps Submit.

System: [Mission complete! Card draws +5]

He looks at the ministers in court, all as predatory as wolves and owls, then at the System before him, which has clearly landed in the wrong era but gives remarkably generous rewards.

Suddenly, he feels like the situation might still be salvageable.

1. An alternate history setting, with an entirely fictional bureaucracy. Everything is made up, all of it.

2. Childish political schemes and naive tricks. Everything is for the fun of it.

Theme: Turn the tide and fight hard.
