After Yu Zhi died, he was hired by the White Moonlight System to play the protagonist's white moonlight in various small worlds.
The White Moonlight System gave Yu Zhi a lesson.
To play the protagonist's white moonlight, you have to keep three things in mind:
1. Win over the protagonist and become the person they love most.
2. Be kind and become a ray of light in the protagonist's heart.
3. Die tragically, and make sure to die in front of the protagonist.
Yu Zhi: "The first two are easy enough... Why do I have to die?"
The System declared, "A dead white moonlight is the only kind that can't be replaced."
Yu Zhi: "...Fine, then."
World One: Raising a Ghost
A ghost who feeds on yang energy, the shou x a Celestial Master who hunts ghosts, the gong
In the Age of the Decline of Magic, the laws of the world are crumbling, and countless vengeful ghosts have broken free, hunting the living and their souls at will.
The protagonist, Celestial Master Gu Chuan, leaves his mountain sect to subdue the ghosts running rampant in the human world. Along the way, he comes across the ghost of an unlucky young man who has just been killed. Thinking he's an ordinary person, the young ghost is controlled by instinct and quietly follows him, hoping to feed on his yang energy. Gu Chuan catches him instead.
The young man opens his beautiful eyes wide. "You can see me?"
The young man, Yu Zhi, did nothing wrong, and it wasn't his time to die. He was simply killed after someone set him up. To keep Yu Zhi from being devoured by the vengeful ghosts, they form a contract. From then on, a ghost with a delicate, handsome appearance accompanies the Celestial Master. The man and the ghost are inseparable.
Yu Zhi diligently follows the plot and dissipates into nothing. The world is rid of its vengeful ghosts, but Gu Chuan goes mad and becomes half human, half ghost.
The System, watching from outside the small world, hesitates: Did you maybe go a little too far?
Yu Zhi rubs the tip of his nose. I'll be more careful next time.
World Two: A Young Man's Travels
The shou is a study companion x the gong is a prince
When he is ten, Gu Chuan, the unfavored Fifth Prince, gets a new study companion: the youngest son of the censor, a boy named Yu Zhi, one year younger than him. He sleeps through class every day or sneaks tasty snacks into his mouth, puffing out his cheeks as he eats.
When the little study companion sees Gu Chuan looking at him, he shyly offers him a bite and whispers, "Your Highness, stop staring at me."
They grow up and play together, promising to be friends for life and to become a wise ruler and a worthy minister, building a prosperous age side by side.
Later, Gu Chuan tears up that promise himself and cages the frail, beautiful bird.
When Yu Zhi is caught after his third escape attempt, he slaps Gu Chuan as the character demands, his expression numb. "Why won't you let me go?"
Gu Chuan bites his lips and murmurs, "I will never let you go. If we die, we die together."
After Yu Zhi dies in despair, Gu Chuan clutches his memorial tablet and dies coughing up blood.
The System, watching from outside the small world, is shocked: How did he die?
Yu Zhi is shocked too: Ah... He really did what he said?
World Three: Taming the Dragon
The shou is an esper x the gong is an aberrant
Just after Yu Zhi joins the Esper Bureau, he is sent on a dangerous S-rank mission.
An aberrant throws Yu Zhi into the water. Before he loses consciousness, Yu Zhi sees a colossal creature in the depths open its eyes. It is a mythical aberrant that has never been verified or discovered. Its name is Dragon.
The aberrant doesn't eat Yu Zhi. Instead, it rescues him.
The Esper Bureau sends Yu Zhi to a specialized hospital. The team leader frowns at him suspiciously. "Who rescued you?"
According to the classified files, the chance of anyone surviving in those waters is zero.
World Four: Flowers by the River
The shou is a honey-tongued priest x the gong is a king
World Five: ...
Reader's Guide:
1. One couple, both pure. The gong is the same person in every world.
2. A frail shou who seems innocent but is secretly calculating x a gong who seems gentle but is actually a madman.
3. The gong and shou love each other very much, so extreme character loyalists beware.
4. This is practice writing, and updates follow the rankings.
5. The small worlds have bad endings; the main world has a happy ending.
6. More details may be added later.
