After All, I'm Just a Slug Cat

Torrential rain! Torrential rain!

If they don't get out of the way in time, the rain will smash them to death!

This is common knowledge among the slugcats. So, just as the downpour is about to begin, a white slugcat, hurrying after its family, slips and falls from a high place, becoming separated from its tribe.

It wants to go home.

A white, slippery, catlike creature, with a big tail and nimble limbs.

The high school boy, once again being bullied for no reason, watches the slugcat take care of the trouble in just a few moves and falls into deep, incredulous thought.

The creature holds a stone in one hand and a sharpened spear in the other, staring at him without blinking with its dark eyes.

Then it lies down and puts the spear aside. It gets back up and reaches out to take the bag of bread in his arms.

No, rather than "stealing" it, it was more like a "trade" or "tribute"... Call it whatever you want.

Junpei Yoshino is grateful to it.

[Survivor]

It carefully explores every region in an attempt to get home, hoping to find even the faintest trace of its home and family. But because it is so fragile, it dies often, so it decides to practice hunting and evasion instead.

"If I kill the other guy, I won't get hurt." With that principle in mind, it once killed every living thing in the industrial district (then discovered that an entire new batch came back in the next cycle). Fortunately, the titles [Thug] and [Dragon Slayer] are eye-catching enough that most creatures steer clear of it. A happy ending.
