Lin Qing was bound to the System and sent into one small world after another, where she became the white moonlight of the beautiful, powerful, tragic villains who turned dark in each world.
They were overshadowed by the male leads and met miserable ends.
Her mission was to heal these villains and help them find happiness.
World One: The White Moonlight of the County’s Richest Heir, a Hopeless Romantic
Clear-headed, clever businesswoman junior X devoted, steady senior who’s a hopeless romantic
In the original story, Shen Mingzhou was a supporting male character who existed to make the male lead shine. The Shen family was the richest in their small county, wealthy for generations. The male lead began as a lowly sales clerk at one of their department stores, then rose to success against all odds. The Shen family’s steady decline served as his foil.
In the end, the male lead became the new richest man in the county, showered with flattery and favors, while the Shen family went from a house full of visitors to one nobody would even visit.
When people mentioned Shen Mingzhou, they only joked that he was too picky. Though the Shen family had fallen on hard times, he still looked down on other women, while the daughters of other families were even less interested in him. The male lead was different: even after becoming the richest man, he married the female lead, who had been a waitress. That was true love.
Shen Mingzhou never married. He did not go into business like his father or politics like his grandfather. He sold off much of the Shen family’s property and lived a simple, low-key life.
No one knew that he, too, had once experienced a love that left an indelible mark on his heart.
Lin Qing was his white moonlight.
She was his junior at school. They had once held hands and looked out at the world together. They parted amicably to pursue their ideals, but when disaster struck the Shen family, she quit her job and resolutely gave up everything in the capital to return and be by his side.
Sadly, Shen Mingzhou never saw Lin Qing again. Instead, he received the news that she had died in a car accident. Her driver had fallen asleep at the wheel, and Lin Qing died at the scene. The hospital called her family to identify her body.
The accident happened less than a kilometer from the airport.
She had almost made it onto the plane and become his bride.
Shen Mingzhou regretted it countless times. If only they had been a little luckier, they could have stayed together forever.
This time, Lin Qing returned early.
She took over her family’s teahouse, which was on the verge of closing. A year later, she opened the hottest teahouse in the county. The year after that, she launched its most popular folk-music bar. Even in a sluggish economy, she built one wildly successful brick-and-mortar business after another.
World Two: The White Moonlight of the Minnan Tycoon and His Hong Kong Socialite Sweetheart
Steady, low-key, rustic tycoon X comic artist and pampered Hong Kong socialite
Lin Qing was the early-deceased wife of Chen Chengjing, a tragic supporting male character in a domineering-CEO romance. According to the original plot, the heroine, Zhang Yuner, resembled her in several ways, so Chen Chengjing protected her and supported his younger brother, Chen Chengyu, marrying her.
Zhang Yuner married into a reclusive aristocratic family and went on to reach the pinnacle of both her career and her life.
Who could have guessed that after Lin Qing, the white moonlight, died, the plot would fall apart?
Chen Chengjing, who had originally supported Chen Chengyu and Zhang Yuner’s relationship, broke them up outright. Claiming they came from incompatible backgrounds, he ordered Chen Chengyu to end things with Zhang Yuner or be expelled from the family register.
Chen Chengyu retorted furiously, “If we’re talking about being well matched, were my sister-in-law and our family a suitable match?”
Lin Qing had originally been sent by the Lin family as a “gift” to curry favor. She wasn’t even considered a lover, let alone a bride for a political marriage, yet Chen Chengjing married her with great fanfare.
Chen Chengjing wasn’t angry at all. Instead, he slowly raised his voice and said, “What makes her think she can compare to your sister-in-law? Your sister-in-law had Mazu’s blessing.”
Whenever Lin Qing thought of that, the corners of her mouth lifted.
That was right.
Their love had Mazu’s blessing. They were meant to be together for a lifetime.
Story Three:
The White Moonlight of a CEO in an Old-School Substitute Romance
Pure, delicate beauty and top student X clear-eyed, devoted early-era CEO
Lin Qing was the long-dead white moonlight in a CEO romance. The supporting male character, Gu Xiao, repeatedly hurt the heroine because of her. The two leads loved and fought each other until the heroine finally left in despair. Gu Xiao regretted everything, realized he had fallen for her, and began a punishing pursuit to win her back. Before he could succeed, the domineering male lead swooped in and stole her away, leaving Gu Xiao heartbroken.
But after Lin Qing died, Gu Xiao shut his heart away and never gave the heroine so much as a glance, much less married her in a contract marriage.
The heroine lost her halo as the CEO’s wife and her chance to meet the domineering male lead. She kept serving food in private rooms, while Gu Xiao utterly crushed the male lead. The entire storyline fell apart.
When Lin Qing transmigrated into the story, she had just divorced Gu Xiao. Readers in the scrolling comments were clamoring for her to hurry up and kill herself so Gu Xiao could meet the heroine, save her from her current predicament, and then unknowingly fall in love while putting her through physical and emotional torment.
But Lin Qing didn’t follow the script. That very night, she went straight to Gu Xiao, pounced on him, and spent several days getting intimate with him.
The readers watching through the scrolling comments saw Lin Qing sleep with the heroine’s man and instantly blew up.
