[This is the next one I'll write!]
Kairos was a pure-blooded incubus on the verge of adulthood.
That meant he could grow stronger by feeding in a special way, without having to study and train diligently like mages and warriors. For example, his older brothers, whom he hadn't seen since they left home, had each acquired several young, beautiful, capable pets.
Kairos liked to be lazy and take shortcuts, so he was very satisfied with his lineage. Now, all he had to do to solve his food problem once and for all was find a devoted pet and keep it.
Preferably someone strong, and even better if they were good-looking. Kairos licked his lips.
He took a leash and a ring, then headed for the grandest, most beautiful house in the city. Of course, he'd casually stolen both of them on his way in.
Selen was a pure-blooded human on the verge of adulthood.
That meant he had no magical racial talents whatsoever, and could only rely on his own two hands to earn anything. Unfortunately, his background also came with a uniquely human cultural tradition: a prominent family, splendid on the outside and rotten within; distant relatives who schemed against one another and pulled each other's hair; parents who didn't love him and had been raving for ten years straight; several older brothers; and poison in every meal, three times a day.
Like every lonely, helpless young aristocrat seeking revenge, Selen was withdrawn, gloomy, cold, and poor. By day, he looked at everyone as if they were already dead. At night, he secretly practiced magic like mad, swearing that one day he'd escape this dark cage and take revenge on his wretched fate.
Until the night of his eighteenth birthday.
The fairy he'd waited eighteen years for, or rather, his fairy prince, appeared at his window.
He was a boy of extraordinary beauty, slender and pure. The moonlight seemed to feel inferior as it fell on his golden hair.
"You're a mage, right? These scrolls, potions, staffs, and spellbooks can all be used to take care of you, right?" The boy's bare feet gave a light leap, landing him on the bed.
Then the boy shoved a pile of glittering treasures onto Selen's blankets and pajamas, as if he were tossing rotten vegetables into a field.
Selen couldn't take his burning gaze off those things. He nodded slightly.
"Great! I was worried I'd picked the wrong things. Carrying all this here wore me out..." The boy claimed his pillow and flashed a smile more captivating than the legendary goddess Venus.
Before Selen could develop some tender, innocent feelings, he felt a chill on his ring finger, then another around his neck. In a daze, he saw a thin leash dangling loosely in the boy's hand... One of his brothers had an expensive dog, and it seemed to wear the same kind of leash.
"Use these for now, and come find me if you need more. I'm not an adult yet, so there's no hurry to eat you. As my pet, your duties are to take care of me and my daily needs, and to make yourself plump and healthy while you wait for me to eat you whenever I feel like it..."
Selen's heart sank. Keeping his composure, he asked, "May I ask who you are...?"
Kairos smiled confidently. "An incubus."
Selen: "...?"
His gaze swept over their respective appearances.
...Who was going to eat whom?
