Hello, Have You Seen the Person I Raised?

Lin Qi is a mutated vine. Every day, she coils up on her own patch of land to bask in the sun, occasionally picking up a few mutated creatures to keep herself entertained.

One day, Lin Qi felt something biting her vines. She crawled over to take a look and found a little white wolf, covered in blood and curled up in the ruins, with one of her vines still between its teeth.

Lin Qi extended a mental tendril and poked the little wolf on the forehead. The tendril slipped effortlessly into the wolf's mental landscape.

The little wolf stopped trembling and turned into a human boy on the spot.

Intrigued, Lin Qi took him home and raised him.

Until Lin Qi fell into a deep sleep while advancing to the next stage. Before she drifted off, she told the little wolf, now human, "Be good and don't wander off."

Three years later,

Lin Qi woke up to find the person she'd raised gone.

Lin Qi formed a human body and walked out of the forest. Whenever she saw a living creature, she asked, "Hello, have you seen the person I raised?"

The person she asked looked bewildered. "...What does he look like?"

The man thought for a moment. "A white wolf with blue eyes. He bites vines, makes delicious food, and can turn into a human."

"Oh, I get it. He's a sentinel."

Cheng Ye is a Dark Sentinel, with a synchronization rate with his quantum beast close to one hundred percent. His mental defenses are so strong that even six A-rank guides working together cannot break through them.

Everyone thought he would stand firm, just like the towering wall outside the base that held back countless mutated creatures.

No one knew that Cheng Ye's mental landscape had already collapsed, and his life was counting down.

That was until the base brought Lin Qi before him.

Cheng Ye said expressionlessly, "No guide can break through my mental defenses."

Lin Qi blinked. "Can I try?"

Cheng Ye raised an eyebrow. "Then come on in."

Written for personal tastes. The main couple are each other's only partners. No splitting them up or reversing the pairing. There is also a side couple, with the same restrictions, though they don't get much page time.
