Ijuin Honoka is an unbeatable three-way player, a catcher and pitcher who can bat left-handed or right-handed with equal skill. By all rights, you shouldn't see him at a public high school, standing at the front of the room with the docile expression of a traditional Japanese beauty, lips pursed in a faint smile as he faces a few people below him
But somehow, that's exactly what happened.
Never mind that he looks like some young aristocrat from a prestigious family, and that his family apparently has ties to the yakuza. It's so hard not to be intrigued when he says, with a serious expression and a hint of shyness, "I'm not here to break you two up. I'm here to join you."
"All right," he said, holding his club application. A bashful look appeared on his face. He lightly touched a finger to his cheek, looking refined, ethereal, and otherworldly. But what he said left everyone dumbfounded. "Actually, my dream is to be Yao-kun and Kiyomine-kun's dog at the same time."
Wait, so this is... No, huh?! What is this guy even saying?!
One of the two, Yao-kun, who had amnesia, asked nervously and deferentially, "What if we, um, said no?"
Ijuin gave a smile that could have landed him on the cover of a fashion magazine. His slightly downturned eyes made him look innocent and pitiful, but what he said was something else entirely.
Ijuin said, "Then I'll have no choice but to destroy you both."
...No, no, no! This guy is terrifying! His devotion is so intense that no ordinary person could even describe it, right?!
* A gloomy, possessive third wheel. His catchphrase is "I'm not here to break you two up. I'm here to join you." He wants to be both Tomokazu's and Hayakawa's dog. (A real dog: petting him raises his affection.) In the dark what-if route, they turn him down, so he joins Ice River, Teito, or another Tokyo school, then barks at the two of them. Think: "If you don't love me, then lose," "Letting me come between you is the only right choice," and "Triangles are the most stable shape, so your little world of two is in danger." He's from Osaka, but falls in love at first sight with two Tokyo guys (not really).
* Mainly about an amnesia-stricken battery, but it's an all-around baseball story, with a Tokyo battle to the death (what).
* Ijuin: "Wouldn't it be nice if you two held my hand?" (tilts head.jpg)
* I want to write baseball so badly. Once I hit 10,000 words, I'll enthusiastically start posting.
