Easygoing, fake-sick beauty who is secretly a true savior bottom x Gravely ill knight, seemingly aloof but secretly fiercely protective top
As the paranormal resurges and the apocalypse arrives, the land is left in ruins. Social order collapses overnight, and the population plummets.
Under paranormal contamination, living things mutate. Monsters with rat heads and snake tails burst out of the sewers. Fish in aquariums grow limbs and fangs, then devour their owners as nourishment. Even humans are affected, their genes merging and mutating.
Fortunately, a small number of people remain rational after mutation and can control the new powers it brings. They are called [Evolvers]. They establish safe zones around the world, tasked with eliminating mutated entities, protecting the surviving population, and finding a way to save the world.
.
Chu Huai, a hapless man who spent three years unconscious in a hospital after a car accident, wakes up to face one hard fact: the world has ended.
The good news: all the debts under his name have been wiped out. His hospital bills, mortgage... he no longer has to pay any of them.
The bad news: areas around the country have been classified as medium-risk contamination zones and sealed off by armed forces. He can't go home, or even get out of the hospital.
Worse news: perhaps because he slept for so long, his body is consumed by an intense hunger.
The hallway is dim, and the lights overhead flicker. His attending physician has swollen to twice his normal size, his spine collapsed and scales rising across his body. Eyes bloodshot, he crouches on the floor, gnawing at something.
Chu Huai doesn't so much as blink. "Excuse me, could I get past? I'm looking for something to eat."
He suddenly stops and sniffs. "You look pretty tasty."
Soon, Chu Huai has eaten every mutated entity in the hospital, and the surviving humans are rescued by Evolvers who arrive on the scene.
Having done a good deed without leaving his name, Chu Huai stands on the rooftop, looking down over the city and wondering: Where should I go for my next meal?
.
The International Evolver Alliance has two legends. One is Raziel, a mysterious figure who has cleared multiple contamination zones alone and has countless followers, though few have ever seen his true face.
The other is Ji Mingze, captain of the First Operations Team of the Asian Special Mutation Control Bureau. Though still young, he has already completed numerous containment missions with a success rate of ninety percent.
Once, while ordered to deal with a mutated entity that had devoured several contamination zones, he rescued an ordinary civilian.
The man was slender, with lovely lowered eyes. He seemed to be recovering from a serious illness, looking frail, innocent, and harmless.
Ji Mingze took good care of him.
But on their way back to the safe zone, the team was accidentally caught in a newly formed high-risk contamination zone.
At the critical moment, the sickly beauty stepped in front of everyone.
His upper body still looked human, and long hair fell to his waist, but wings had grown from his back, where countless eerie eyes appeared. His writhing tentacles opened their sharp-toothed jaws to feed, and space and time warped into a blurry illusion.
...The unmistakable signs of an SSS-rank mutated entity.
Before they parted, the man turned back, winked at him, and mouthed, "I'm full. Thanks for the meal. See you next time."
.
At first, the Special Control Bureau put Chu Huai at the top of its wanted list under the code name [Idhalla]. Countless Evolvers threw themselves into trying to contain this mutated entity or destroy him for good.
But later, people were astonished to discover that Idhalla, the uncontrollable high-ranking mutated entity, and Raziel, the mysterious Evolver who refused to join any organization, were one and the same.
Everyone called him...
The world's last hope.

*People are made not only of disappointments, but also of faith and hope; not only of death, but also of their passionate desire for life... Fortunately, people are almost never rational creatures, so hope rises again and again from disaster., Ernesto Sabato
