How to Spoil a Villainous Antagonist

Scheming slacker with a love-brained streak x sickly overachieving genius

Pei Hongchi x Wu Mingxi

Bad news: The hard-luck high schooler Pei Hongchi has transmigrated into a badly concluded xianxia novel he once read, becoming a disposable character who won't last more than a few days.

Good news: He arrived early. The protagonist, Long Aotian, has only just been found and brought back to his sect, while the future villain, who will turn completely dark after everyone turns against him and bathe the Thirteen Provinces in blood, is currently just a sickly little dumpling who coughs every few steps.

Most people would try to cozy up to the protagonist Long Aotian, suppress the villain, turn their fortunes around, and climb to the top.

But as luck would have it, Pei Hongchi is Wu Mingxi's number-one devoted fan.

Pei Hongchi: ^^ Our little Wu is just a bit spoiled. What did he do wrong?

So

Wu Mingxi thinks his medicine is too bitter and refuses to drink it, so Pei Hongchi buys candied fruit and patiently coaxes him to take it, one sip at a time.

Wu Mingxi's hands and feet are always cold, so Pei Hongchi takes off the warming jade he carries and has him wear it close to his body.

Wu Mingxi keeps his face stern and icy, so Pei Hongchi often seeks him out, makes him laugh, and keeps him company as they pick flowers and admire the moon.

When Wu Mingxi's cold poison flares up, the boy who never wants to show weakness in front of others buries himself in Pei Hongchi's arms and whispers, "Hongchi, it hurts..."

Pei Hongchi gently pats his back, answering silently in his heart: I know.

I know the ambitions you never fulfilled, the glory you always longed for, the opportunities you missed

I know the pain you've carried year after year.

Pei Hongchi has seen Wu Mingxi practicing his sword. The moment the sword leaves its sheath, every flower is stirred. He thinks: Those beautiful hands are meant to wield the sharpest sword in the world.

Now that Pei Hongchi is here, Wu Mingxi won't have to suffer ever again.

.

They reach the story's turning point once more. Long Aotian steals an opportunity, Wu Mingxi is framed, and everyone points an accusing finger at him. The protagonist acts heartbroken and tells them to mend their ways.

Wu Mingxi gives a cold snort and glares at the others. "My conscience is clear! If you want to expel me, ask the sword in my hand first."

With no other choice, Long Aotian turns to win Pei Hongchi over, urging him not to join Wu Mingxi in his wrongdoing.

"Sorry." Pei Hongchi smiles gently and rests his head affectionately against Wu Mingxi's shoulder. "My senior brother and I are the best of friends in the whole world."

Who makes your heart race? Who makes your heart ache? Who makes you sometimes want to hold him in your arms? Who cares about your dreams? Who says he understands your thoughts? Who is moved by you? "Ask"
