[Western Crossover] The League Is Pretending Every Day

The much-awaited fake-bright-and-righteous Justice League AU of Earth-66 is here.

Like every other normal Earth, Earth-66 has a hero team called the Justice League, as well as its own Big Seven.

Every hero has a role to play, dutifully being a good hero. On camera, they all look cheerful and adorable.

They're the very embodiment of justice, the shining example of all that is good.

But only they know that the League is putting on an act every day.

Whenever someone steps onto the Watchtower, they might get smacked in the face with a rule saying that today they aren't allowed to enter with their left foot, right foot, left hand, right hand, and so on.

So why are they all fake paragons of justice? Because every hero is the projection of the darkest version of themselves from their universe. After their universes were rebooted time and again, every one of them had been ruler of Earth or the universe at least once.

So after all those reboots, everyone was just... tired.

And so Earth remained peaceful, and the universe remained calm (alien invasions don't count). Everyone continued to be a good hero in the eyes of the people.

The only problem was that none of them wanted to be a good colleague. They spent every day trading barbs. You smile, I smile. You start a fire, I pour on oil. Whoever I manage to rile up earns another mark on my glorious record.

A fine, sunny day.

Everyone is doing their best to be a good hero today, too!

Content warnings:

1. Parallel universe fake-paragon AU.

2. The heroes are good heroes, but not good colleagues.

3. No major character deaths. Anyone who dies today will be alive again the day after tomorrow.

4. This universe is weird and gets rebooted a lot. After every reboot, everyone's back in action.

5. Includes multiverse transmigration.

6. Don't worry, everyone is still very united.
