Three hundred years ago, the little beggar Cang Nan was saved by the immortal lord Wangyu by chance. Since he showed some talent, he joined the Chengtian Sect and became Wangyu's senior disciple. Ever since that fleeting glimpse in childhood, Wangyu had become an incomparable figure in Cang Nan's heart.
Wangyu was aloof and disliked noise. Cang Nan was his only disciple. Cang Nan was overjoyed, but kept his overflowing love tightly suppressed. To make his master look at him just once more, to be the only one by his master's side, was all he wanted in life.
But three hundred years later, that beautiful dream shattered. One day, his master brought a similarly gaunt child back from down the mountain.
He told Cang Nan, "This is your junior brother from now on, He Wanting. Treat him well."
Though young, He Wanting was exceptionally gifted. More rare still, he was a humble and kind child. Gradually, not only did his fellow disciples come to respect He Wanting more, but Wangyu's gaze, too, often settled on this beloved young disciple.
With every bit that He Wanting shone, Cang Nan faded a little more. By the time his junior brother came of age, his master's heart had completely turned toward him. Wangyu no longer even looked at Cang Nan.
Cang Nan went from the senior disciple everyone had once adored to an abandoned nobody whom no one cared about.
Cang Nan hated He Wanting to the core. He hated him for taking his master away and stealing everything from him. Most infuriating of all, the culprit kept hanging around him every day, saying all sorts of damned things that seemed to mean one thing and another.
He Wanting stood before Cang Nan, basking in his good fortune, smiling slyly and cruelly. "My dear senior brother, you're so stupid. Master doesn't like you."
No matter how much you flatter and fawn over him, he won't spare you the slightest bit of attention.
What's the point?
Cang Nan was so furious his heart felt torn apart, and he nearly ground his teeth to dust. He dreamed of tearing off He Wanting's hypocritical mask. Cang Nan swore that no matter the cost, he would make that little wretch He Wanting understand that his master belonged to him alone.
Content warnings: The plot is extremely melodramatic. Basically, he loves him, he loves him, and he loves him. One-on-one romance, both leads are each other's only partners. Scheming, black-hearted junior brother seme x gloomy good-for-nothing senior brother uke. The uke is a bit of a stalker toward his master early on; later, the seme may use coercion on the uke. Neither lead is exactly a good person. Every pot finds its lid.
Theme: Every pot finds its lid.
