Xu Yun is an honest, rather dull beta.
Because his father gambles, Xu Yun is lost in a bet to a creditor. The creditor then takes him to the Zhou household as a tool to curry favor with Zhou Huisheng. Xu Yun becomes Zhou Huisheng's servant, and his lover.
Xu Yun never understands.
The famous eldest young master of the Zhou family could have anyone he wanted, so why was he so determined to keep Xu Yun by his side? Why would the scent of roses make Zhou Huisheng go mad and lose control?
Then Xu Yun sees a rose-scented alpha who looks almost exactly like him.
Xu Yun finally understands. Oh, he's just a substitute.
His heart breaks, but he also feels a little pleased. Now that the real one is back, doesn't that mean this thief should step aside?
But when he tries to leave, why does Zhou Huisheng act like a madman, desperate to keep him there? And why does the person who should have been his unattainable white moonlight say he wants to take him away?
Content warnings: 1. The main character is a 0.5. Zhou Huisheng is an omega pretending to be an alpha. Expect melodrama and a love triangle involving three people. All three are sexually inexperienced. The story shares a universe with a certain other story, and there may be cameos. 2. There's a bit of a scummy bottom and a groveling top, with a later “chasing your husband to the crematorium” arc. As usual, it's about an honest beta adored by everyone, and there will be a pregnancy plot. 3. The author's tastes are unusual, and the writing is passable. The main character suffers quite a bit; he's an honest man with a hard life. 4. Last but most important, if you can't keep reading, please don't curse me. Just drop the story. Thank you, everyone.
