My Childhood Friend Is Komori

My childhood friend is the top libero in high school.

He's cheerful and helpful, good at sports, and does well in school. Even at Itachiyama, a top private high school, he's comfortably above average.

He's even pretty good-looking. He may not be as popular as my other childhood friend, his cousin, but he's still quite charming. His little dot eyebrows are adorable.

So, after all that, are you thinking that my childhood friend and I must naturally be about equally cheerful?

Then you'd be wrong.

I'm a gloomy anime nerd with no energy and even less stamina. My greatest joys in life are reading manga and playing games. I hate all sports, and my grades aren't great either.

We seem like two people who would never have anything to do with each other.

But the truth is, we're each other's very best friends, each other's closest childhood friends.

We're an inseparable part of one another.

I know it's a basic trope for every sunny character to have a gloomy one by their side.

But what does it mean that Komori Motoya has two gloomy weirdos around him?
