The Young Master’s Rough-Hewn Husband

For three generations, the Xue family had enjoyed high status and a spotless reputation. Then one day, they were convicted for their words, and Xue Shu fell from being the legitimate son of the Minister's household to a prisoner.

His entire family was imprisoned and exiled, so Xue Shu had no choice but to smash his head against the stone steps to prove his resolve through death.

When he came to again, he was as guileless as a child.

Xue Shu had lost the life he knew and the meaning of all those years spent studying. In return, he got a big, burly, rugged man... his fiance?

Xue Shu gazed blankly at the man by the courtyard gate, his face full of confusion.

Yue Pingguan had heard early on that this young master had damaged his brain and been disfigured.

The tall man wore a short-sleeved shirt that showed off his firm, sun-browned arms. He stood by the courtyard gate with a wooden basin and glanced at Xue Shu.

"Come in."

In this completely unfamiliar place, Xue Shu couldn't light a fire or sweep the floor, and even had to be careful every time he bathed.

The man took a broom and explained to him twenty times that you had to sprinkle water before sweeping, latch the door at night, and never take everything with you when you went out.

Xue Shu looked at him with tear-filled eyes.

"Are you leaving your husband behind too?"

Yue Pingguan: "..."

Later, Xue Shu learned that his great-grandfather had not only pawned everything the family owned to raise money for a lifesaving emergency, but had also racked up quite a few favors owed.

Xue Shu was saddled with all those debts of gratitude, and then hit with devastating news.

Yue Pingguan told him, "I'm not your husband. I'm your creditor."

Xue Shu nodded dejectedly.

All right, all right.

Not only could they not pay off the debts together, he also had to repay Yue Pingguan's favor.

All right, husband.

Later, when Xue Shu's mind cleared, he realized his great-grandfather might have been handing out engagement contracts wholesale. There were other people out there who'd been duped into coming here under that pretense.

Then his husband must have more than one...

???

"What husband? I don't think your head's fully recovered yet." The man gritted his teeth and grabbed his leg. "I've collected all your debts."

I'm the only one who's your husband.

As usual, here's a rugged-man romance for a good time (x)
