A few years ago, when An Jinchen was sent on a mission to the Wasteland Planet, he calmed a young sentinel who had gone berserk.
The boy was not in his right mind. He cut An Jinchen's arm, leaving a scar that could never heal.
Years later, An Jinchen was framed by his lover and sent to the Wasteland Planet, a place without laws where sentinels ran wild everywhere. Before he left, his lover even injected him with a mental stimulant, hoping the berserk sentinels would drain his mental energy dry.
Guides who emit mental energy are more precious than gold on the Wasteland Planet.
The sentinels' mental energy, on the verge of spiraling out of control, filled the place. Layer upon layer of pale figures closed in on him.
The sentinels fought each other bloody, but when they saw the scar on his arm, they all looked terrified.
"Isn't that the boss's mark?"
"How could someone who was only just exiled here have the boss's mark?"
There are no laws on the Wasteland Planet. Sentinels use identification tags infused with mental energy to mark what belongs to them.
But some people have always been brazen, even from childhood, and like to leave distinctive scars on their possessions to mark them as their own.
When An Jinchen was brought before Xiao Jin again, the boy from years ago was seated on a throne built from the bones of alien beasts. His half-lidded red eyes were on the verge of going berserk too, until that unique mental energy, cold as glacial snow and soothing as it washed over him, calmed the mental barrier on the verge of a volcanic eruption.

Contamination from alien beasts is growing worse, and the Imperial Star Guild Alliance keeps losing battles. Yet the Intelligence Bureau's annual report shows that the Wasteland Planet has the highest contamination purification rate?
Under pressure from the public, the Security Bureau has no choice but to invite the sentinel guild hailed as the strongest on the Wasteland Planet. When the interstellar cruise ship reaches port, everyone is stunned to discover that the guild's leader is An Jinchen, the miracle guide exiled years ago!
And aren't the sentinels living on the Wasteland Planet supposed to be lawless, no better than thugs?
So why do they move in perfect unison and act with such order? And why does the S-rank sentinel they call their boss smile so warmly, like a spring breeze?
The guides at the base are on the verge of tears.
"So not all sentinels are mad dogs. Some are gentle and considerate, like Xiao Jin!"
"I'm never putting up with those sentinels who go berserk again!"
At that moment, Xiao Jin has An Jinchen pinned deep in the dark, narrow passageway. His rough fingertip strokes the scar, and his piercing gaze is no different from that of an alien beast staring down its prey.
"Say you're mine."
An Jinchen sighs.
Who on earth started the rumor that this man was the light of the sentinels?
