As a disposable background character, Amias usually shows up in the corners of comic panels.
Yet eight hundred pages of comics couldn't piece together a complete picture of him.
To get him more screen time and make him a successful comic-book debut, the System went to great lengths to insert him into a world brimming with both danger and hope: the Gotham Universe.
The more danger there is, the more often a disposable character gets to appear!
And so...
A courageous bystander who fights for his life to escape a gang shootout, but still doesn't forget to save others...
A victim kidnapped by Scarecrow, whose psychological defenses are broken down on a livestream, yet who manages to turn the tables on his captor...
An unlucky guy chased by Joker gas who never gives up...
Amias's desperate struggles leave their mark in every high-risk area.
But to another group, it all looks completely different.
The Batfamily watches the TV as the latest victim is interviewed, and they all fall silent.
Why does every victim have the same face?!
This isn't right. This can't go on!
A file on Amias is quickly created on the Batcomputer...

[Batman Record: Unlucky Constitution
Possibly cursed. Seeking a way to break the curse.
Red Hood's note: But this constitution doesn't seem to affect his exams. He's a straight-A student.
Nightwing's note: Jason! I'm so glad to see you here! But I'm not the least bit surprised.]
[Batman Record, File Two: Always at the Scene of the Crime
Identity in question (crossed out)
Correction: Amias is confirmed to be cursed. No indication of any other identity.
Nightwing's note: Tell me, B! You weren't planning on adding a little blue-eyed, blond-haired boy to our family, were you?
Robin's note: ????]
[Nightwing's Record: Considerate and willing to help others in danger.
It's hard to imagine an American high school boy with these qualities.
Good, but he could use some self-defense skills.
Oracle's note: That's definitely a problem. Can anyone think of a way to make him more cautious?
Red Robin's note: Even harder to imagine that anyone at school doesn't like him!
My surveillance shows that everyone in the places he's lived has liked him!
Clearly, the people at that school shouldn't be included in the sample...
Nightwing's note: Hm?? Is that the point?]
[Red Robin's Record: Amias
This name means loved, deeply cherished, worthy of love.
It's the name that suits him best.
Notes from Batman, Oracle, Alfred, and Red Hood: ???
Nightwing: Hey! Tim, what are you writing down? I've thought you were acting weird for a while!
Red Robin: ...
Red Robin: Wrong file. (Message recalled)]
[Ultimate Classified Record: Self-Destructive Tendencies
When danger strikes, Amias always rushes to the front.
His eyes follow those who need help, while he forgets himself entirely.]
[It's okay. I'll protect him.]
[Until all Tim Drake can see in his eyes is himself.]

After working hard for a while, Amias finally made his comic-book debut!
He even managed to build a wonderfully happy life in a city like Gotham.
"I get all that," he said, flipping through his comic special. "But why am I the Batfamily's favorite?"
In a higher-dimensional space invisible to Amias, the System stared in shock at all the listening devices and trackers on him, and at the room fitted with countless covert surveillance and defense traps.
Everyone who's doting on you belongs in prison, you know that?!
Theme: One kind of heroism is recognizing what life is like and loving it anyway!
