Aren't I Supposed to Be a Gloomy Ghost?

After transmigrating into the villainous third male lead of the currently popular urban superpower youth manga Apocalypse Protocol, Ji Xia chose to play a creepy, obsessive ghost for popularity points. He could exchange popularity points for days of survival and various skills. If he could make it through the manga’s storyline until the finale, he would truly get a second chance at life. Long-term stalking. Prying eyes everywhere. Clingy possessiveness and crazed obsession. For the sake of his hard-won second life, Ji Xia studied every frame, cast aside his morals, and put the act into practice. But as his popularity points climbed day after day and the story steadily advanced, strange things began happening around him. Personal belongings mysteriously went missing. Memories vanished in scattered fragments. A hand rested on his Adam’s apple in the dead of night. In the mirror, he faintly glimpsed red marks on the side of his neck. Though he was supposed to be lurking in the shadows, before he knew it, far too many eyes were fixed on him. Trembling with fear, Ji Xia finally made it to the day the story ended. He went to say goodbye to Shen Zhixu, the protagonist he’d been harassing, only to discover the missing personal belongings and videos filmed while he was under hypnosis at Shen Zhixu’s house. The door clicked shut behind him and locked. Shen Zhixu gazed at him and smiled brightly. “Where do you think you’re going without me? You can’t leave.” “After all... your eyes should only ever be looking at me.” Ji Xia: “...Is it too late to say I was only acting before?” “It’s okay.” Shen Zhixu bit his ear. “I’m serious.” Theme: Be sincere, kind, and good when interacting with others. Don’t be false.
