Disguised as a Man to Work as a Servant

Lin Ming transmigrates into the Ming Dynasty, becoming a twelve-year-old girl whose mother has died and whose father has sold her to a trafficker as a servant.

As soon as she wakes up, the trafficker feels her face and says, "Such a pretty girl. If you're lucky, you'll be sold to a rich household to serve as a bedchamber attendant."

Lin Ming comes to her senses and realizes she has transmigrated into a book.

She has become a disposable bedchamber attendant in a domestic power-struggle novel. She uses her beauty to seduce the male lead and successfully becomes pregnant, only to die in the household's vicious infighting, taking her unborn child with her, just when she thought she might rise in status.

Lin Ming is furious. Even if she has to work as a servant boy, a stable hand, or do the most degrading labor, she would rather that than be trapped in the inner household!

So she takes out all her savings, kowtows, and asks the trafficker to become her adoptive mother.

She swears to hand over every bit of her wages for the next three years, all she asks is that her servant registration be changed to male.

From then on, Lin Ming disguises herself as a boy and starts out as a servant.

She will free herself from her servitude, earn silver, and carve out a place for herself beneath the imperial capital of Great Ming.
