[Football] He’s Always Attacking Me

It's a pretty old-fashioned setup: the protagonist downloads a FIFA System to play, but the System crashes. To make up for it, the two of them strike a deal. The System will use all its remaining energy to revive her as compensation, and she'll play soccer to gather energy for it. Without enough energy, both unlucky souls will die.

(The System gets its energy from emotions, and they have to come from people connected to soccer: fans, players, coaches, and so on.)

The System helps her assign her talent points. Once it maxes them out, it discovers there are still quite a few points left. After a moment's thought, it decides that soccer players get injured too easily, so it puts all the remaining points into medicine for the protagonist.

The protagonist and the System gaze at her fully upgraded character page, delighted.

But they don't know there's a second page, and they'll never get the chance to find out. Physical contact, fitness, and health are all left behind.

Then the System sends the protagonist off to be reborn, choosing the most useful character mod recommended by a previous System.

After being reborn, the protagonist looks at her missing mother, violent father, and broken family and asks the question on her mind: What kind of script have you given me?

The System says: Reborn in Italy, I play soccer with all the hottest tropes.

The protagonist starts playing soccer. As expected, every opponent realizes she's fragile. For a while, she seems like soccer itself has taken human form, becoming a legendary player who gets fouled more than anyone else.

The protagonist: They're so sweet, and they keep attacking me!

But the protagonist has a talent for medicine, too!

And the protagonist (laughing, wearing gloves): "Auv, aren't you the guy who just kicked me? Why aren't you talking now, Mr. Tripping-Bro?" (Wags a finger) (Changes expression) "Well? Speak!"

Then the protagonist joins Lazio and witnesses the tragic story of the little captain selling himself. She weeps her eyes out on the spot. That's just how we slash fans are! Even more so when we're personally involved in the story! And this is the little captain she watched grow up with her own eyes! A slash fan who knows regret better than anyone and has always savored it has now become part of the regret herself!

But guess what? The chairman was corrupt, AC Milan was corrupt, too, and you got bundled together with Nesta! But your relationship with Milan was like the free sample thrown in with a purchase. You were just a convenient extra. After all, you'd barely played before the transfer, and no one knew whether you were a true genius or just a lucky workhorse.

But later, you showed what you could do and played alongside everyone for ten years. Who knew the club had some kind of face-changing KPI? When the ten-year mark came, they were about to start ruthlessly cutting players. Luckily, you'd been prepared ever since the transfer incident, and with the System's help, you moved quickly and became AC Milan's new chairman.

You (after becoming chairman, grinning smugly): "Hey, you there, Little Ma, right? I hear you're Milan's heir apparent. Go get me a glass of water."

All in all, your career was mostly happy, with a few ups and downs. Looking back, it was a legendary time.
