[The blurb has been saved as a screenshot. Writing this one hasn't come easily, so I've decided to start another infinite-flow novel next.]

On April 1, a rumor began spreading among the people of Qingning City: supposedly, when the screen of an electronic device in your hand flashes red three times, its owner will die.
At first, no one took it seriously, assuming it was just an April Fools' Day prank.
But after a string of bizarre deaths occurred across the city, and every victim's electronic devices were found displaying a red screen that would never go dark, the Criminal Investigation Brigade classified the case as a top priority...
Shen Cike has just been appointed head of the criminal investigation team in Qingning City. Everyone thinks his promotion is suspicious, because before the former team leader died, he left instructions that the older deputy chief, Wen Heng, should not succeed him. Instead, Shen Cike was promoted over his head.
Shen Cike pays no heed to the rumors, and neither do the colleagues who have fought alongside him and know what he can do. Even Wen Heng, who is at the center of the controversy, doesn't believe them.
Barely a few days into his new post, before he has even settled in, Shen Cike is hit with a series of linked murders. As he investigates, he finds himself harried by a detective who always seems to be fooling around.
As they spend more time together, he discovers that this detective, who claims to make a living by helping his neighbors with odd jobs, is not as simple as he seems...
Lu Suzhou: "Dear Captain Shen, are you really sure you don't need a detective with a hundred percent positive reviews from the neighborhood to give you a hand?"
Shen Cike: "...No, thanks."
When Lu Suzhou somehow manages to join the criminal investigation team and help solve cases, Shen Cike has no choice but to accept that there's now a chatterbox sparrow beside him, and a very large one at that.
One day, Lu Suzhou extends a hand with a cheeky grin. "Hello, Captain Shen. I'm Lu Suzhou. I look forward to working with you."
Shen Cike gives him a somewhat perfunctory reply. "Got it, Lu Suzhou."
Cool and aloof criminal investigation captain, bottom x Flirtatious detective, top
[The author's little notes]
1. This is a fictional world. Please don't compare it to reality.
2. There will be a few plot points that go beyond modern technology.
3. I'm not a professional, so there may be a few minor plot holes, but I'll do my best to avoid them.
4. Both leads are each other's first and only, and their mutual feelings are incredibly strong.
Theme: Live in the real world
