[Complete edition: 5.23 yuan. A new unlimited-flow novel is now open for follows in my author column (please support it!)]
[First novel, very amateurish. The instances aren't as well developed as my later work, so if you're not enjoying it, please stop reading in time! orz]
When the NPCs on every floor of the instance are connected to Chinese medicine and mental illness, when marionettes so lifelike they seem real hang themselves in the rest hall, and when every player has lost their memories, what is the truth behind this tower?
Lan Shi suddenly found himself inside a survival tower of marionettes. Even stranger, much of his memory from before he arrived had disappeared.
All he could do was keep clearing instances and climbing toward the top of the tower.
He had to kill the so-called "Tower Master" as promised. No, wait. He had to torture the Tower Master until the end of his life.
But after reaching the top, Lan Shi discovered that the entire thing was a lie from the Tower Master. Reaching the top had never been one of the possible endings. The journey to uncover the truth behind it all was only just beginning...
Tower Master: "You have only two possible endings: reach the top or die."
Lan Shi: "Do you think I'm afraid of dying?"
Tower Master: "If you reach the top, you'll see me. In other words, you'll be able to kill me with your own hands."
Lan Shi: "I won't kill you. I'll torture you until the end of your life."
Later, Lan Shi finds himself being pestered and harassed by the Tower Master instead: ?
"My dear friend Lan Shi, you came, yet your voice and letters vanished into the distance. Lan Shi."
"Then we're a perfect match. As the jade pipes usher in the dark season, golden music celebrates in the crimson halls. My name is Xuan Xu."
"When I watch one person after another whom I can't save, I hate my name more than anything. It's as if I'm the end of the seasons, the end of their fates. They can't escape, and neither can I."
"After meeting you, the endless winter finally welcomed spring."
Altruistic, clingy gong x selfish, snarky shou
[Author's ramblings]
1. The Tower Master is human, not an evil god or a boss. Any more would be a spoiler, ovo. In short, the Tower Master won't give the protagonist any cheat abilities.
2. The System is only a broadcast. The protagonist solves every level using his own intelligence.
3. There are no common instance types. You won't see hospitals, schools, amusement parks, or anything like that in this story.
4. The gong has a reveal-identity plotline. He isn't a split-fragment gong.
5. From the fourth floor until the end, the two of them will keep teaming up to clear instances.
Entirely fictional, unrelated to reality.
The first instance is very simple and leans toward puzzle-solving, since its main purpose is to introduce the characters and setting. I hope you'll stick around until the second instance. The story really gets going from the third one onward~
I don't want to exploit people with illnesses. I have my own reasons for writing about this subject, so I'll research the relevant illnesses carefully for every instance.
[Quotes]
1. "My dear friend Lan Shi, you came, yet your voice and letters vanished into the distance." From "Seventy-Two Verses," by Shi Zuqin of the Song dynasty.
2. "As the jade pipes usher in the dark season, golden music celebrates in the crimson halls." From "In Response to the Imperial Poem on Keeping the New Year's Eve," by Xu Jingzong.
[More rambling]
No matter what, I won't abandon this story, because I really want to tell you how it ends. The story after they reach the top is the part I've been looking forward to revealing ever since I wrote the opening, ovo.
Theme: Keep striving to live
So I still got beaten up by Fatty. It turns out
Hi, I just saw the update today! Great!
"I just heard that it actually appeared..." This is a big mistake for the author~, missing a double quotation mark
Alone? "It doesn't mean that the bright moon doesn't shine alone on her..." This is a big bug for the author~
In the early morning of May 7, 2026, I finished reading the day before the exam. I want to write my first long review in Jinjiang. I would like to thank the author for creating such a work🥹 The formation of each floor of the tower is caused by the mental illness of real people, which is really a very meaningful setting. This patient with anxiety disorder did not expect to find fellow patient villains while reading the article hhh Similarly, using Chinese medicine as a character name is also a very novel idea, which makes the setting of the last dungeon logical. In the second half, when 001 said "I am Jiang Banxia...", I exclaimed in bed. I feel like I am not sufficiently alienated, but my companions who are still standing in the human camp are shining with the light of humanity (?) The only regret is that the final chapter feels a little rushed. I always hope to see more interesting plot twists and explanations of the system itself in the Chinese medicine pharmacy. Fortunately, there are extra episodes to complement CP's emotional line:) All in all, this is a work that has no flaws and is not homogeneous. You can also feel that Da Da is a very delicate and gentle creator with wonderful ideas. Thank you again for writing this article! P. S. I left some nonsense comments while reading, and I caught a few bugs along the way: P
"My name is Jiang Banxia..." Foreshadowing recycling!!! Absolutely amazing!
"First, it was smooth. He mistakenly already..." This is a big mistake for the author~ "It was smooth for a while"
There is an eerie beauty to it, I love this scene.
I really can't feel happy after experiencing somatization...
Anxiety sufferers… totally understand.
