Wild Doll on the Open Plains

After her parents died, Yuan Ye grew up in the countryside with her maternal grandparents until she was thirteen. The villagers all called her the "country waif."

After the grandparents who raised her passed away as well, her aunt and uncle took her to Goldfish City.

But Yuan Ye struggled to adjust to city life: she could never figure out how to use a computer, her cousin mocked her for not knowing brand names, and she was lonely after transferring schools...

Yuan Ye had no friends in class, and at home she felt invisible too. She wanted to go back to the village, and she missed her grandparents.

Then one day, after school, her younger brother played a prank on her, and Yuan Ye got lost in Goldfish City. With her backpack on, she ran around, pattering from place to place.

She stumbled into a strange old house, and found a dazzling world inside.

Yuan Ye easily pushed open the door. In the world within the house, turtles ran around carrying rabbits on their backs. The stone lions at a mansion's entrance complained that a dung beetle had piled things beside their pedestals again. At school, the stern supermarket owner beat a gong and urged everyone to hide.

The supermarket owner said she was the heir.

What? She had a house to inherit? Yuan Ye gaped in astonishment.

But to inherit this strange world, the supermarket owner said, she had a lot to learn. Yuan Ye was about to begin an extraordinarily strange educational journey.
