The Prince's Manor Maid

When A Tong woke up, she had transmigrated into a male-oriented novel. In the book, the male lead was an unloved imperial grandson. Thanks to his intelligence and talent, he eventually won the emperor's favor and became an emperor for the ages. She hadn't transmigrated as the female lead, but as the daughter of the male lead's wet nurse, a cannon-fodder character who died after betraying him. The male lead's father was Prince Xing, an imperial prince with no real power. His mother, Prince Xing's second wife, came from a humble family and was not favored, so the male lead had yet to be formally named heir to the princedom. A Tong's family were attendants of the princess consort. Their life in the household was difficult, too. With no hope in sight, they gradually began to consider switching their allegiance. The prince's secondary consort was a longtime member of the household who had borne his eldest son, a son born out of wedlock. Lady Lian was the prince's new favorite and had borne his youngest son. Just as her mother was wavering, A Tong stepped in to stop her. Are you kidding? The male lead would soon earn the emperor's favor during the autumn hunt, and their family would be beaten to death for betraying him. Her mother was the male lead's wet nurse, her father managed a shop that came with the princess consort's dowry, her younger brother was the male lead's attendant, and she worked in the household's sewing room. If they could just live peacefully until the male lead ascended the throne, they'd have more wealth and honor than they could ever use. What on earth would make them want to throw in their lot with someone else? To secure her golden ticket, the female lead would go to the male lead now and then to prove her loyalty, bringing him a pair of shoes she'd made one day and a bowl of chicken soup the next. As time went by, she realized the way the male lead looked at her was getting stranger and stranger. Theme: Work hard at life and change your fate.
