See You

"I just wanted someone to see me,

and you happened to be the one who did."

You hid among the crowds, saying no one ever noticed you.

I happened to see you.

But our meeting was too brief. We didn't speak of the past,

ask when we'd meet again, or learn each other's names.

I only remember that you were 29.

In the ordinary days of my life,

you were that sudden, gentle glimpse of brilliance.
