Shattered Moon

"The moon is a wound in the night,

So every star looks like a drop of blood."

He loved the corn-and-pork dumplings she made most of all,

But he would never get to eat them again.

The warm dumplings

Slowly cooled in the bitter wind,

Just as her heart

Stopped when she heard the terrible news.
