As a rookie reporter, Beatrice had a headache over work every day. Just as she was about to comfort her equally unsuccessful best friend, she turned and saw that they'd landed an exclusive interview with one of Gotham's rich and powerful.
"Darn it, would you sell your soul for work? Clark, you really are trying way too hard."
Her friend from Kansas smiled a little awkwardly, but then he got an offer from Gotham too.
The Gotham sweetheart's eyes shimmered in the light. A few blinks, a smile, and a raised glass were enough to leave the young reporter Beatrice completely smitten.
After she got back to the newsroom, Beatrice finally managed to get that handsome face out of her head, only to see Clark hurrying out of the bathroom.
"He's so handsome! You have such good taste. I really want to, "
"Beatrice, I don't think you two are really suited to, "
"Being friends."
The young reporter blinked in confusion, then nodded solemnly.
When the big red guy appeared in the night sky over Gotham, every alarm in the Dark Knight's body went off. He was ready to fight an alien at a moment's notice.
The alien, with his clear and innocent, if slightly foolish, eyes, simply landed on the ground with a smile and met his gaze.
"My best friend wants to be friends with Wayne."
"I won't agree. What are you going to do about it?"
The big red guy hesitated for a moment, then answered with even greater conviction.
"Then I'll come ask you again."
The three of them had a remarkably strong friendship. Whenever one of them suddenly needed to use the bathroom, another would always rush off to join them in no time, leaving Beatrice to enjoy three desserts all by herself.
The young reporter accepted her friends' busy schedules without a second thought, until disaster struck.
As Beatrice fell from a skyscraper while trying to save people, the handsome face of the Kryptonian who caught her overlapped perfectly with the image of the weak, pitiful, helpless Clark from her memories.
And why did the chin of the dark figure in the distance look so familiar?
"So, can we still be friends?"
Beatrice had always thought that being a reporter was just a job. Find a hot topic, interview a few people, write a few articles, and that was enough to maintain her place in society.
But when disaster struck, everything she was proud of became useless. Her writing couldn't pull trapped civilians out of the rubble, and the attention her articles attracted couldn't immediately heal badly injured children.
Beatrice stood on the ground watching the heroes fight, seeing the civilians who couldn't be rescued in time, hearing their pained cries and pleas for help. One thought kept running through her mind: What can an ordinary person like me do?
That question stayed with her until the disaster ended. In the dull articles she wrote afterward, Beatrice caught glimpses of the filth and evil hiding beneath the sun. She also realized what she could do, and what she ought to do.
"Hello, I'm Beatrice, an unremarkable reporter with no superpowers and no bottomless bank account."
"As long as I can still speak, I'll expose every injustice I see. With my pen, my keyboard, and my camera, I'll protect the world I love."
Theme: Who exactly enjoys going to work?
The diligent little reporter still didn't expect that the world would be in such chaos.
Fish A, fish A... The soul is back... The soul returns... Drives the long whip and sets up the six bridles... The soul is back... Crossing the mountain and singing... The soul is back... The soul is back... The soul returns... Sings high and triumphant... The same robes are worn out... The soul is back... The soul is back...
I feel like it's very difficult to resolve the conflict with my mother.
I like the setting very much, keep it up!!!
It's so beautiful, boss, update quickly 😭
...[Melts][bursts into tears] No, this is what I look forward to when I come back from school every week
It's very interesting. Two girls who secretly follow each other and compete with each other only see the beautiful side of the other.
I'm still confused after seeing this. Didn't Lois and Clark have any intersection in this article? If there is an intersection, it stands to reason that after the heroine and Clark work overtime together, they meet Lois and her friends who are waiting for someone, and they should have dinner together.
The author writes very well! Looking forward to the follow-up 🤩
It doesn't matter! We can get an interview with Luther, both the richest man
