I have a secret.
Since I was little, I have been able to switch bodies with a disciple of the Nine Heavens. The young disciple was bullied in secret, while I was hardly any better off, plagued by drugs and poison.
Gu Fengdeng always thought I was cruel, and I thought he was foolish and weak.
When we were young, our differences in outlook made us torment each other constantly. Yet we had no choice but to take over each other's bodies, learning every bit of the misery hidden beneath the other's polished exterior.
When we turned nineteen, we finally cut ties for good and parted in the heavy snow.
I witnessed the past that stripped him of all dignity. He knew I was rotten inside despite my fine exterior. We were blemishes woven into each other's very bones and blood.
So there was nothing to regret.
We didn't look back, not even once.
Later, I got my wish and brought down the elders in my family. Looking at the nest of villains left behind, I felt nothing but boredom. With my great revenge complete, I wanted to see an old acquaintance. After considering my options, Gu Fengdeng seemed to be the only one.
But I never expected that my impulsive visit would actually open the gates of the Nine Heavens, which had not received a guest in a hundred years.
I called out half-heartedly, "Immortal Venerable, I've had a miserable life. Take me in, will you?"
The killing blow I expected never came. Gu Fengdeng reached out to brush the snow off me and replied, "All right."
First-person POV, shou lead. Complete story, available with a monthly subscription.
Wooden-headed, sickly beauty shou x straightforward, playacting-gege gong
A work of unrestrained self-indulgence.
Not suitable for fans of either gong or shou. Gong fans may find it uncomfortable, and shou fans may not enjoy it either. The author's preferences are about as useful as a poker.
The shou is very slow on the uptake and only realizes he likes the gong near the end. The gong acts like a gege and is so straightforward he's practically hitting the shou in the face with it, but since he puts on such an act all the time, the shou doesn't notice at all.
Both the gong and shou are hopeless romantics. The gong accepted the shou's extreme way of handling things in a second, then started eagerly washing his underwear and cleaning up after him.
The shou doesn't understand the gong and thinks he's a self-righteous saint, but still puts up with his cold shoulder and washes his underwear and cleans up after him for five years.
