Song Mian is a little milk dog. On the day he turns eighteen, he arrives at a human university all by himself, with a hundred cans of meat tucked away, and vows to fit perfectly into human society and make a name for himself!
But the more he watches his human roommate, the more suspicious he gets.
Feeding him beef every day is the bare minimum. Making sure he drinks water on schedule is routine. Standing guard whenever they go out so nobody can get near him is just a habit.
Song Mian watches his roommate eat the colorful steamed buns and steamed pumpkin he's left over, then watches him use a glare to chase away yet another human trying to hit on him.
So which one of them is the dog?

After Lin Yuan discovers that his junior student eats dog food, he starts paying special attention to the younger man's meals, practically taking care of everything himself.
Song Mian points to a new restaurant someone posted about on their social feed. "I want to try this."
Taking the hint, Lin Yuan immediately finds a table at the nearest luosifen hotpot place and sets off with him. But the closer they get, the more Song Mian frowns. When they stop at the entrance, Song Mian points in disbelief at the sign, then at Lin Yuan. "Here?"
Lin Yuan watches the steady stream of diners and takes a blissful, deep breath. "Here. It's authentic. It smells awful, but tastes amazing."
Song Mian grabs the utterly bewildered Lin Yuan and runs, only stopping two blocks away. After agonizing over it for a while, he finally asks, "Haven't you humans evolved... how come... we don't all..."
