“One-on-one, both virgins, a sweet slice-of-life romance”

Xuer is a little fool.

After the death of the grandmother who had been her only family, Xuer really did become like a wisp of down blown by the wind, with nowhere to turn and no one to rely on.

Her uncle took a fancy to her beauty and wanted to marry her off to Master Zhu, a wealthy man in the south of the city, in exchange for a bride price.

Xuer wasn't willing.

She went to ask the Earth God Grandma to think of something for her.

The Earth God Grandma answered her prayer, and behind the shrine lay a handsome man covered in blood.

Xuer took him home and carefully looked after him.

But the girl next door told her, “The stories say you shouldn't just pick up men, or they'll rise to great heights later and bring you bad luck!”

Xuer was timid and frightened out of her wits.

She went back and stared at the man on the bed, scratching her head as she thought for a long time.

After thinking it over again and again, she made the man a bowl of medicine.

A bowl of medicine that would turn him into a fool.

“I'll take responsibility for you.”

Xuer murmured earnestly as she fed the man his medicine.

Later, the man really did become a big fool who had eyes only for her.

Xuer taught him how to eat, how to get dressed, and how to bathe.

One night, the man pointed below his waist sash. “Xuer, it's swollen here. How do I make it go down?”
