All of Heaven Knows I'm Plotting a Rebellion

Lucifer, the glorious Morning Star, was God's most beloved creation and the only angel permitted to stand at His side. While the other angels could only listen to the holy voice from outside the hall, Lucifer could speak with God at close quarters, kneeling before Him. The other angels mostly admired and adored Lucifer as well.

Then one day, everything changed.

God, Jehovah, who had always favored him, suddenly took back some of his authority. Michael, his close friend and fellow warrior, began challenging him to duels again and again. Even Raphael, the healing angel, seemed to have something to say whenever he saw him, yet held back.

Lucifer lowered his eyes and wondered: Had they found out that he was involved with the serpent in the Garden of Eden? That he had passed on the plans for Noah's Ark? Or that he had instigated the Tower of Babel?

Lucifer saw it all, but had no intention of changing his plans. He was the very embodiment of light. The proud Morning Star would rather fall than bow his head.

"Lucifer, you are my creation. You belong to me." The noble Creator branded His most beloved child with a mark that would never fade, for all eternity.

Whether in Heaven or Hell, I will only ever allow you to stand by my side.

What Lucifer didn't know was that the thing that truly enraged God was his determination to escape Heaven forever. Even God's words of warning could not change his resolve. Yet this pride and stubbornness were precisely what God had raised in him with His own hands.

Probably a God and Lucifer fanfic.
