A Sea of Chivalrous Tales [Essays]

Wuxia has been a lifelong passion.

I've watched nearly everything from both sides of the Taiwan Strait, Hong Kong, and Macao.

Where did this attachment come from?

My childhood memories are too scattered and hazy to analyze anymore.

Originally, I wanted to use classic wuxia songs as a starting point, connecting them to stories from behind the scenes of wuxia dramas and movies, and casually writing down my thoughts. A little here and a little there, easygoing essays, a thousand words per chapter. As I wrote, I realized that the wuxia world is both vast and small, with one great circle and countless smaller ones...

There is loyalty and affection, favors and grudges. Resentment can grow from kindness, and grudges can fade as enmity is laid to rest.

All in all, it's still a world of genuine feeling.

Anyone who has ever spent time in this jianghu

may cross paths with others by chance as they wander, and share a stretch of the road with someone they're fated to meet.

Writing this book

has truly been a wonderful experience in my own imagination.

The heroic tunes I haven't rambled about yet

will keep appearing as side stories,

one after another...

Theme: The greatest heroes fight for their country and its people.
